BOIC General Terms and Conditions
1. General
These General Terms and Conditions cover the rights and obligations related to the services and information provided by the vzw Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (with registered office at Boechoutlaan 9, 1020 Brussels, registered in the RPR of Brussels under number 0408.141.059; hereinafter: "BOIC") via its website accessible through www.teambelgium.be (hereinafter: "the Website"). They particularly include the rights and obligations of the BOIC and the legitimate users concerning the information and services offered and/or processed by the BOIC directly or indirectly via the Website.
Any use of this Website, wholly or partially, by a (legitimate) user ("User") is subject to these General Terms and Conditions.
2. Object and Purpose
The general objective of the Website is to provide general and specific information about the activities and organization of the BOIC, including news, events, and projects organized or co-organized by it or in which it is involved.
Through the Website, the BOIC also processes and provides (relevant) information related to its Sources, which information is either collected by the BOIC within its activities or made available to the BOIC directly by its Sources or indirectly through public channels, such as social media.
"Sources" refers to: all natural persons who may be eligible to be part of a delegation for a multidisciplinary competition during the 2013-2016 Olympiad or who directly or indirectly perform official or unofficial tasks in preparing athletes, as well as sports federations, leagues, the commercial and institutional partners of the BOIC, and the national and international sports organizations recognized by the IOC.
3. Content of the Website and Liability
The BOIC takes the utmost care in creating and updating the Website, as well as in editing, moderating, and verifying its content. Although the BOIC makes every effort to ensure that the content of this Website is as comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date as possible, the BOIC cannot guarantee that this information will always meet all these criteria.
Additionally, information is made available through the Website, particularly on personalized pages of its Sources, which is publicly shared by the Sources themselves, directly or indirectly, using social media such as public pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other channels through which Sources publicly share data, over which the BOIC has no control ("Social Media").
4. Registration
Certain services and information provided via the Website may only be accessible after registering as a User. In the context of such registration, the BOIC requests certain personal data, such as name, address, email address, and other contact details.
To (continue to) enjoy this information and services reserved for registered Users, the registered User must keep their contact details up to date via the Website at all times. The BOIC reserves the right to suspend or refuse registration and/or deny the User access to certain information if it reasonably suspects that the information provided is incorrect, incomplete, or not current.
5. Privacy Protection
The BOIC attaches great importance to protecting the privacy and personal data processed and displayed via the Website. The BOIC undertakes to use this personal data in accordance with the laws of December 8, 1992, and December 11, 1998, concerning the protection of privacy (as amended) (hereinafter: the "Law") and in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).
Through the Website, the BOIC processes certain data of users of its Website. Some information processed by the BOIC is anonymous, such as (but not limited to) the IP address of visitors, the date and duration of the connection, the number of pages viewed and the nature of these pages, the number of visits, etc.
This anonymous information is used by the BOIC only for statistical purposes and is primarily intended to continually improve the content and functioning of this Website.
To access certain information or use certain services, the User may be asked to provide the BOIC with certain personal information, such as (but not limited to) their name and email address.
The BOIC guarantees that this information will only be used for the purposes for which it was provided to the BOIC (sending newsletters, participating in a competition, etc.). In particular, this information will not be disclosed, transferred, sold, or otherwise distributed to third parties, unless your prior (written) consent has been obtained.
Additionally, the BOIC processes certain public data of Sources displayed publicly on Social Media, which cannot be directly modified or deleted by the respective Sources, except through the systems and channels provided by these Social Media to their respective users. If certain data or information provided to the BOIC by a Source or User relates to one or more third parties, the Source or User explicitly declares to the BOIC that they have obtained the necessary permissions from the concerned party for the processing of their personal data by the BOIC made available via Social Media or other channels.
As permitted by the Law, any Source or User can access the data relating to them stored or displayed on the BOIC site at any time and upon simple request to consult, modify, and/or update them. To do so, send an email to feedback@olympic.be.
These personal data are processed by the vzw Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (with registered office at Boechoutlaan 9, 1020 Brussels).

6. Intellectual Property Rights
The User acknowledges that the BOIC is the sole owner and holder of all intellectual property rights, particularly copyright and database rights, concerning the Website as such. Some information made available to the User via the Website may include works to which third-party rights apply, particularly copyright, rights concerning computer programs and databases, portrait rights, trademark rights, etc.
The User declares and warrants that they will not copy, adapt, translate, make publicly available, distribute, lend, or rent the information and/or the Website, in whole or in part, for commercial or other purposes without having obtained prior written permission from the BOIC, which may be subject to conditions.
If a User who is the rights holder of any work made available on the Website wishes to object to such use, they may request the BOIC free of charge to make this work or these works unavailable. Such a request must be addressed to feedback@olympic.be.
Upon receipt of such a request, the BOIC will investigate it within a reasonable timeframe, take the appropriate action deemed necessary by the BOIC, and inform the User via email.
7. Nature of the Obligations
The nature of the obligations related to the services provided by the BOIC to the User concerns, unless expressly stated otherwise, best-efforts obligations. In providing information via the Website, the BOIC will always adhere to professional standards.
8. Guarantees and Warranties
The User declares and acknowledges that consulting the information, using the Website, and the services provided by the BOIC via the Website are at their own responsibility and risk. The BOIC does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the information on its Website, whether it is self-collected or provided by third parties or obtained through other channels, such as Social Media. The BOIC cannot be held liable for any damages, of any kind, both direct and indirect, that the User may suffer as a result of using the Website or relying on the information displayed on the Website. The BOIC also reserves the right to modify or improve the content of its services, the information provided by the BOIC, and/or the Website in any way, at any time, without prior notice.
9. Applicable Law; Courts
These general conditions are exclusively governed by Belgian law. In case of a dispute between the parties regarding the information provided by the BOIC via the Website, only the courts of Brussels will have jurisdiction to hear such a dispute, although the parties will make the necessary efforts to reach an amicable settlement beforehand.
